When you rent a limousine, you’re not just getting a means of transportation. You’re getting an experience. Here are a few tips for you to make sure that your limo experience is a pleasant one.

Skip the weekend booking
Limo rental companies usually have their weekends fully booked. Try to schedule your rental to fall on a weekday. Unless there’s a special event happening (a concert at Casino Rama, a hockey game, etc.), chances are you can get a bit of a discount or a shorter minimum booking period.

Make it a group thing
Limo services typically charge by car, not by person. Now, keep in mind that limos are big. They have a lot of room in there so a group of friends can share in the experience – and the costs. This is an especially useful thing to remember if you want to rent a modified Hummer or a stretch limo.  The “per person” rate can be quite reasonable for a night on the town.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions
Before you decide on which limo to rent, you should first know the ins and outs of what you’re getting into. Ask the rental company about what is included in the price and whether or not you’ll have to pay any extra charges.  Ask about accident insurance too.  Rental insurance isn’t exactly the same as getting Aviva to give you a policy for your own personal car, so have them explain it to you.

Don’t forget to tip your driver
Show your appreciation for your chauffeur. CBC says the standard tip is usually 15% of the total fare, which is basically the same percentage that you’d give your waiter. Your chauffeur is also providing a service, after all. If the experience is top-notch, feel free to tip more. You’ll want to be remembered for something nice if you plan on becoming a repeat customer. Note that some limo services include the gratuity in the total price, so don’t forget to ask about this upfront.
